Something that isn’t pill based but is a natural alternative for sleeping problems is Sound Therapy. There is information about it at http://www.soundtherapyperth.com/benefits/sleep.php .

It’s a listening program that calms the brain and helps induce a deeper sleep – it uses classical music that has been specially filtered, that is turned down low so you don’t have to consciously listen to the music.

I’ve used Sound Therapy – I actually bought it for my tinnitus – and found that a very pleasant side effect was that it helped my sleeping within a couple of days of starting to use it.

I have never tried any of these, I have always used Valerian Root when I had sleep "issues" and it has always worked for me. I do know that more and more drug stores are starting to carry herbal supplements, so you may be able to find it at Rite Aid. I will inclose the link as to where I get mine. It has a very good taste, almost grape.

I don’t know about the Hyland’s sleep aids, I am not sure if those really work but I use Valerian Root and melatonin myself. Melatonin helps you fall asleep faster and valerian helps you get into those deeper sleep states (which you really need!) I like nature’s resource for valerian and Natrol for melatonin..

I have used Calms Forte for years. I use them for occasional tension and PMS symptoms. For this I take 1-2 tabs and within 30 minutes you can feel that the "edge" has been taken off. For nights when I can’t sleep I take 2-3 tabs and they work very well. I have also used Melatonin which I like just about the same as the Calms.

I also use Hyland’s Hayfever tabs which you dissolve under your tongue. They work great on my 7 year old’s allergies.

I would highly recommend Hyland Brands. They have been around for a long time and I have always had great results with their products. Also, the price is right and they can be purchased at Rite Aid or Wal-mart.

Hope this helps you with your choices. Good Luck!

Why don’t you get some Melatonin you can find it at the drug store or get the product on line. SleepSense. the link is below. After my husband died I needed something, so the health food store suggested I try this one. Works great, I take it when I need it. Not addictive, you get a good nights sleep and wake up refreshed. That was two years ago.

There are many reasons to be interested in stem cells, one of the most prominent being their potential use in finding better drugs to treat human disease. This article focuses on how this may be implemented. Recent advances in the production of reprogrammed adult cells and their regulated differentiation to disease-relevant cells are presented, and diseases that have been modeled using these methods are discussed. Remaining difficulties are highlighted, as are new therapeutic insights that have emerged.
